The foam of life
We are bubbles of self-preservation and self-perpetuation, made out of and making up bubbles in the foam of life. The egoism of each bubble is dynamically balanced with the empathy on all levels so that we exist. A bit egoism on the cellular level and you get less effective metabolism, on the organism level and you get corruption, on the species level and you get disbalance. A bit too much egoism on the cellular level and you get cancer of many kinds, on the organism level and you get monopoly of many kinds (be it corporation or even dictatorship), on the species level and you get extinction. This is not to say there are three levels - this preferential treatment to the perpetuation of the process within a bubble could happen on mitochondria level, competition of sexes level, etc. so the foam is fractal in the self-mimicing sense. Cooperation of cells within an organism, mutualism, or else have offered survivability chance that is good enough to make those exist however originating from and ever balancing with the simpler forms of perpetuation. |
